Food, Glorious Food!

We made fruit using crepe paper and glue. We scrunched up the crepe paper ribbons into little balls. We out glue on the picture of the fruit and stuck the crepe paper balls on top.

Watch us at work!

We sorted food into sets of healthy food and unhealthy food. Healthy food is good for your body and teeth. Unhealthy food is not good for our bodies or our teeth.

We coloured the healthy food and put an X over the unhealthy food.

We print using fruit and vegetables. We dip the food into the paint and hold it down on the paper. We can do it again and again until we cover the page with food prints!

Wait until you see them up on the wall!
We all voted for our favourite dinner. We could choose between spaghetti bolognese, sausages and mashed potato, a burger and chips and chicken curry and rice

We drew our favourite dinner in our copies.

We set up a shop in the classroom. It's like a supermarket! There are fruit, vegetables, bread, cakes, bottles, tins and meat in the shop. One table plays with it each day. We take turns as the shopkeeper and the customers.

November Birthdays!

Happy Birthday to you beautiful boys and girls!

Long and Short

We have been learning about long and short.

We sorted ribbons. Each child at each table got a ribbon.

We had to find the longest ribbon at each table. We lined up from shortest ribbon to longest ribbon.

We hung the five longest ribbons on the line in the classroom.
Look how long these ribbons are! Which one is the longest?

We sorted cars into long and short. We created long lines of bears.

We coloured the short ones in our maths books.

We drew longer ones in our books.

We played games on the IWB. Click the picture to play the game.

Colourful Fun

We are learning about two colours this week - pink and white!

We are painting in the mornings. We are using two colours, yellow and blue, but we only have one brush! We are learning to wash our brush when we want to change colour.

News from Room 2

Here is the news from last week.

These were the Pupils of the Week for the past two weeks.

These two boys won the prizes in the raffle at assembly on Friday.

Happy Birthday to this lovely boy who turned five last week!

We Love Vegetables!

We learned all about vegetables.

We planted a vegetable called garlic in the secret garden.

We had a look at the garlic in the classroom.

Teacher broke the garlic into its cloves. We brought the cloves to the secret garden.

Here is the Secret Garden. We had never been here before! There are different areas in the garden for plants to grow. These are called beds. They aren't like our beds at home!

Our bed is the one in the middle with the red markers. First we took the bog stones out of the bed.

Teacher put holes in the soil. We all got a garlic clove and had to put it in the hole upside-down. That means with the stringy bit pointing up to the sky. Then we covered the garlic with soil.

We are proud of our planting. We can't wait for the garlic to grow big and fat!

We sorted vegetables into green and not green vegetables.

We made sets using our toy food. We sorted them into a set of vegetables, a set of fruit and  a set of not vegetables and not fruit.

We drew vegetables in our copies.

We also sing Do You Like Broccoli Ice-cream? Listen to the song here. It is so funny!

We made broccoli ice-cream in our writing books! Have a look.
