People Who Help Us

We have been learning all about people who help us.

We learned a lot about the doctor. We read Doctor Daisy and Doctor Hoof. We set up a doctor's surgery during Aistear time. We also learned about the nurse's job and the receptionist's job.

We drew pictures of doctor's and their tools.

One day the garda came to visit and we learned all about her job - you can find out more here.

We  about the firefighters, where they work, what they drive and what they do. We read the story George's Dragon at the Fire Station. We drew pictures of the firefighters.

We also learned about many other jobs. We played a game during morning activities where we matched workers to the tools they need for their job.

We matched them on a worksheet too.

In the writing box we had pictures of lots of workers. We picked a card and drew the worker and wrote the name of the job. Here are some of our drawings and writing.

We made a data chart - What I would like to be when I grow up. We could choose the doctor, the garda, the teacher, the lollipop person or the firefighter. It was close for a while! Can you see which job is most popular?
